2-way radios: Techi870 and other users? by Illiad 2005-02-11 11:44:27
Motorola and a few other companies have really been pushing the 2-way consumer radios these days. Do you guys have a particular brand and model you recommend?

What I need is a good-quality 2-way set that has decent battery life and good range (5+ km). I don't need a million channels. Tough and light would be preferable, but I don't want to eBay my left kidney for one.

I assume Techi870 as a SAR specialist would likely know a bit about them. I invite anyone else who has experience with consumer or prosumer 2-ways to offer up their expertise and experience.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
