Morphine just made me sick, and scarcely touched the pain. (For opiates to really work, one has to start taking them before the pain begins). An IV anti-inflammatory, Toridal (sp?), proved to be the most effective, and kept me off the morphine until a few hours before they manipulated the stone back into my kidney, and placed a stent, since they couldn't schedule ESWL for about a week. FWIW, women who have had both stones and natural childbirth say the stones are much worse. -- HadEnuf?
