Java Servlet/MySQL question by varikin 2005-02-11 09:33:29
If someone copy and pastes a strange character into an html form like the regestered symbol (®), how do you get MySQL to recognize the character. If you enter the encoding itself it gives back the encoding but the actual displayed character ends up "???????" which to me means it can't understand it. The xsl/html page is set to UTF-8. Is there someway to filter those things in a servlet first?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
