What is the best way to secure a WAP? by Rattler2005-02-11 09:07:12

1) use the highest encryption standard possible. Be random in generating the key and use both the alphas and numbers available to you, typically 0-9 and a-f.
2) change the SSID to something other than the default
3) lock it down to the mac addresses of the wireless cards that you will be using with it. It is possible to spoof the mac address but it will slow any hacker down.

I am sure there are other things to do but that is what I could think of quickly.
