| My mother in law likes to shop in the "bargain" part of town, and gets my daughter some items she needs (a good thing, I'm not complaining about that). The thing is, the stores she shops in are the stores that support all those sweatshops in the Far East - where else are you going to find new clothes for a few dollars an item?
Not only are these manufacturers cutting corners on labor, but also on materials and processing. I have finally determined the source of the "pinking" of our colored laundry -- it's these cheap clothes! They don't take that final step when they make the fabric and acutally bother to set the dyes!
I used to think it was the hand-crafted tye dyes we get from people we know (not THIS time, buddy!). The culprit is these darned cheap-a$$ed pink "lounge pants".
I don't have the time or energy to wash all her new clothes seperately. But I suppose I'm going to have to, or the rest of my husbands flag bandanas will be red, pink and blue. (Plus it pinkened her favorite cat shirt. She won't be pleased either).
And yes, I washed it all in "cold". The dye ran anyway.
Have I mentioned that I hate laundry day? |
