It got my sound card right, which seems to be a step ahead of Mandrake, but no internet for me. I left my wifi card out assuming I'd need to use ndiswrapper. Ubuntu also does not detect my battery properly. It is a Gateway Solo 5300. And apparently the only place I can configure the screen depth of my LCD is by doing some crazy terminal thing that won't work because either I picked a strange root password and can't remember it or because root is disabled and I can't su. I should probably reinstall anyway. The 5.x release is out within the month, no?
