You can go to the pharmacist and get an over the counter treatment. They are eye drops you use 1-3x a day for up to 2 weeks. The drops are the same stuff as used in some ear infections.(I can't remember the medical name off hand but I have a bottle of the stuff downstairs) Be very careful that nobody eyes uses the same cloths you wipe your eyes/face with. Wash your hands well when you've touched your eyes for any reason. Doing this will help stop the spread to other people or your possible reinfection later. If you develop any type of lump from the discharge and irritation put a warm cloth on your eye every few hours. This will help the body naturally disolve it. If not it may turn into a cyst.(I know I've had a cyst removed from my eyelid and this is what the optomitrist said to do)
