Hmmm... I don't think that we still take every fashion from there. America still has a lot of influence, but not that much than before. Since Bush attacked Iraq, a lot of people here saw the true, ugly face of the American government, and started to rethink their attitude toward the US. I guess the dispute about attacking Iraq just created a stronger feeling about a common, European community. We rediscovered our own culture. Belusconi was mentioned some time here... I think the comparison between the re-election of Bush and Berlusconi is rather poor because Italy does by far not have the same power and influence to the world than America. I would even go so far and claim to enfranchise the whole "western world" for the election of the next US president. You know... The US cannot sell Democracy to the world, and then refuse to give support. ;-)
