I wonder what European UFies think by shminux2006-11-19 12:55:59
Well what do I (German UFie) by lurker69 2005-02-11 05:28:14
think about it?
Short answer: what was once a wide-spread enthusiasm for the US in general has given way to general distrust.
1st I think the author has right in most of what he's saying.
2nd note that ~80% is addressed to Americans what to think about America(n corporation)!
As with the attitude of Europe against USA and its government (whcih I assume what intersts you most :-)) he hit *my* private opinion. To say it bluntly: Until last October I thought only "Well, the USA has a government that does more harm than good outside America; and the president..."
NOW it changed to "at least 50% of the American citizens are unable to see that their government tears down their esteem in throughout the world. Wild West Cowboy methods meet hard-core capitalism. The USA on average (and not only its government) is dangerous for the world. Additionally they cheat more than is acceptable. What a pity!"
But I would not say that the average European has such a clear point of view, and then again there is Italy where I equally do not understand why they re-elected Mr. Berlusconi...
I also note that we still take over EVERY sutpid fashion form US and any social distortion ("malforming") with more or less delay!
