Text-based browsers don't support it, nor do really old ones. So what's your point? Nothing is 100% compatible, but PNG is well past the threshold of an acceptible level of compatibility. If you're talking about animating what's essentially a background image... I give up, you're beyond help. I hope you don't care if nobody actually wants to read the content due to distracting animations.
