... I'm afraid most europeans just dont understand the americans anymore. At least from my perspective, the fact that Bush seems to be what the USA wants, is simply not understandable. Not that Kerry was such a wonderfull alternative, mind you.
To be honest, I wont say that its paradise overhere at the old continent. But the power the US has (both military and economically) is overwhelming, and the only way to counter it, is to become stronger, not with arguments. And thats something that is not anymore the european way. It is as if the US say, we are right, because we are stronger, because we win. And that, offcourse, is nonsense.
Mind you, we have our own Bushes, such as the aforementioned Berlusconi. I cant understand that either. But then, politics is absolutely necesarry, but not necessarily understandable.
