If someone points at me and yells "greedy gnome" I will indeed be insulted. If someone in a discussion says "you, as a Swiss, will certainly not help in getting our hidden money back" I will probably swallow my indignation because I can perfectly see where my opponent's frustration is coming from. But I will point out that on the contrary, I am trying to help as much as I can. If someone asks me how I stand in the discussion "as a Swiss" I will inform him that I don't really define myself that way. Same if someone swoons about me being a little Heidi skipping among the goats and eating cheese and chocolate all day :-). But I will not be insulted - he will insult himself.
