And this is an honest question. I know the answer for myself, but I'm not presuming to know the answer for anyone else.

Are positive stereotypes offensive? For myself, being Middle Eastern, I'm obviously not too fond of the negative stereo types, but whenever I encounter a positive one, I usually play up to it as well as I can, even if it's not true. ;-)

Do others feel the same, or do you feel that stereotyping is categorically bad, regardless of the context?

This question was inspired by this reply to this TLP. I'm going to bed soon, so any commentors who are seeking replies can have them tomorrow. :-)
