So, what do you do if a cow-orker has an offensive by Evil_Minion 2005-02-11 00:20:08
nick on an IM client you are required to use? I'm fairly sure the new Afterhours manager hasn't noticed. I emailed the moron in question, explaining that it is offensive, and received a reply that I should "study my Latin".

I told him that since the nick is read by English speakers, and is offensive in English, that I would continue to consider it offensive and would not reply to it, whatever the situation.

Now in an non-work situation, I'd simply consider the source and leave it there (just ignoring him). Unfortunately I must work with said moron, and we really should use the IM client per company policy. Also, to give this guy the benefit of the doubt, I've searched for the Latin phrase and found nothing (not posted here because of possible FYOSR violation as well as possible easy identification by cow-orkers).

Any ideas?
