dismantling a flawed opinion is a great deal different that "trampling" it. I find that a lot of UFies (on occasion myself, to my great regret) don't see the difference. The ones which really arouse my ire are the ones who seem to think they have a right to do this, meaning to abuse people because they think their opinions and/or logic are flawed.

You know this because you've been forced to boot some people who were really cool people except for that Grand Canyon sized personality flaw.

Sweetheart definitely shows some serious dichotomies in her personality. Some of her comments more than border on the risque, especially for a married churchgoing person. To turn around and get very prudish about movie posters which are showing nearly-nude, but still covered, women strikes me as hypocritical. This doesn't mean I have the right to browbeat her and be abusive towards her opinions.

I can ignore her (which I generally do pretty successfully), or I can express my feelings without requiring that she justify herself to me. As she has pointed out, she has no requirement to do that, and in my opinion it gives no one a hunting license for her. Just dismiss unsupported opinions as the non-factor they are, and she'll get the idea.
