but if it is for field work (and most training exercises are field exercises) then the Velcro will fill up with brush, thistles and the like also in a washing machine velcro sucks. as it will stick to everything except itself.

If your too dumb to learn how to use buttons, zippers and ties you shouldn't be in the army.
