Pretty much all the soda I drink these days are of the diet variety, meaning 0 calories thanks to the use of aspartame. I haven't noticed any problems at all. Splenda, on the other hand, is absolutely EVIL! I once made the mistake of having some Wint-O-Mints that were "sugar free" with Splenda. It seemed like I was running to the restroom at least once an hour for the rest of the day. The "may have a laxative effect" warning is very much an understatement. :)
