"upgrades" that aren't... by McNutcase 2005-02-08 13:01:06
I have a couple of issues with recent-ish "upgrades" to my proggies...

First up, FireFox. How do I make 1.0 drop the stupid MSIE-style popup-blocking notification and revert to the nice sensible icon in the bottom tray the previous versions had? I want to know when a popup has been told to go away, but I do NOT want the knowledge to cut into my browsing area. Is there something in about:config I can frob to get this to happen?

Second, Skype. Nifty and all, but the notifications are annoying and don't behave as they "should" compared to other programs. I want it to stop popping up a little notification every time someone I know signs on, and I can't find any way to stop that in the preferences. Anyone know how? It's the latest version of Skype...
