Except for "end", which doesn't have a semicolon.

The expression (x = y) also returns a value, so that's ok. It will read true if salary_sucks is not 0, false otherwise.

suck.it.up would be a public variable in the class it, which is a public object in the class suck. It won't do anything, but C++ is okay with expressions standing there doing nothing.

That is, if it's supposed to be C++.
