As DR pointed out they have filed lawsuits to prevent team prayers before highschool games, informal gatherings of religious students organizations . . .

All based on the possibility of 'forcing' a religion on others. And on legal technicallities they may have a point. But none of these activities is mandatory, the significant majority do want, or do not mind prayer, and in proctecting the liberties of the extreme minority they are preventing free expression by others.
