of meeting MSG Benavidez about a year and a half before his death. He was one of my all time heros from the very first time I read his story and he did a lunch time speaking engagement at our chow hall. I probably got to talk with him for 5-7 minutes one-on-one after he was done. He was perhaps the most unassuming and gracious man I ever met. Quite a decent fellow. When he died, our entire unit had a moment of silence in his honor.
