I'm getting ready to setup a test server with one by techi8702005-02-08 08:40:14

    DC's and Win2KServer by peired 2005-02-08 10:41:48
You are correct, or partially correct. Windows 2k Servers are not PDC's they are just plain old DC's. (PDC is a WIndows NT setup, not used with the 2k servers) Windows 2k Server can be setup as a DC or as a standalone, depends on what you want it to do, ie. if you want it to run Active Directory/DNS/DHCP/etc/etc. Also depends if your network is running in Mixed Mode (NT Servers present as well on the network) or in Native Mode (All 2000 Server flavors). Ouch...my brain. (Been a few months since I've had to attempt to get my head around WinDoze...we've been messing around with Netware 6 stuff for the last semester or three...) Anyway, see my previous post on suggestions for why the install keeps bogging out.... I'm going to go do some work now...really...I swear.... Red
