The ACLU regularly fights against Christian groups by carthax 2005-02-08 10:29:17
The ACLU has been involved with cases involving:
* punishing private religious school administrators for spanking children, even though they are following the rules laid out in the school handbook
* child molestations by priests (can't say I disagree with the ACLU there...)
* Forcing teaching of evolution and preventing teaching of creation science at private christian schools
* Preventing "See You At The Pole" demonstrations at public schools (Christian groups gathering at the flag pole of the school to pray before school starts - it's not proposed by the school, nor by anyone in power at the school; it's a simple gathering of schoolkids to pray for their school, their families and their government -- Prayers of this type in school are NOT illegal.)
* Preventing spankings in any forum, public or private, as it "degrades the way our children feel." <-- this is a paraphrase from something I heard on the news a while back from an ACLU lawyer during a court case in California.
* Preventing prayers at high school and college commencements (Hence the fact that my graduating high school class did the classic "valedictorian sneezes and everyone says God bless you" thing.)

While I cannot say that there are groups who deserve more rights than others, I *can* say that Christians deserve just as many rights as everyone else.

/me doesn't like the ACLU.
