You might be interested to discover that the language has drifted a bit, what with the inability to actually *voice* text and all. Some of it can be explained here, but there's still more. My brother - whom I used to jump on with both feet for the same sort of issues, explained that a lack of capitalization sometimes inferred an introverted perspective. Not that I buy it all, but it has become more and more of the norm, and when viewed from that perspective, appears to be a sort of emoticon in itself.
