  New Question by Illiad2005-02-08 00:51:50
Ship of the Line? by Control2005-02-08 00:54:53
      Correct! by Illiad 2005-02-08 01:10:46
Answer: 48.

Which is kind of strange, considering the real Ships of the Line carried at least 74 guns. Anything less and you probably had a 4th or 5th rate, which were odd ships that didn't quite fit any needs. They weren't strong enough to fight a Ship of the Line nor swift enough to give chase to a frigate or smaller vessel.

Next Question, same time, the Age of Sail: Which European nation more than any other was famed for filling their ships with soldiers in addition to the crew?
