Photo Printer or Color Inkjet? by bastetsmuse2005-02-06 21:48:47

if photo quality is what you are after I would say 100% do not go for HP. Which leaves you with either Epson or Lexmark. Remember however for true photo quality you will need to get the photo colour cartridge which usually replaces the black. And you will need to print your final draft on photo gloss paper, for best quality.

I know you have already said no to Lexmark. Obviously an issue for you in the past so that leaves Epson. However be careful when choosing an Epson printer. You need to check the cartridges first. ALWAYS when buying an inkjet printer buy one where the printhead is part of the ink cartridge. This does mean when ever you insert a new cartridge you will have to check the alignment again. But that is by far better than having to try and replace a print head that is built into the printer.

Last point. If you are going to refill the ink cartridges (which I highly recommend against, purely for quality reasons) do not ever fill more than twice.
