...that's what we do in Europe: we build long sentences. With questions. Foucault is a french writer, a good one at that. Might not be academic French but totally acceptable in a test. But I'm with you: French is hard to learn. That's just all there is to it. I spent four years in school trying to get a grip on it and miserably failed to ask for a knife in a restaurant in Paris last year.
