A kind of silly semantic argument, I mean...

I have semantics arguments with my C compiler all the time :).

Actually, I don't think (yeah, I know, that's obvious) this semantic argument is silly though. Since the original statement describes an interesting philosophical way of looking at people's behaviour and motivation. And in order to understand this point of view, you need to understand what the "need" in that statement means.
