If I "retire at 50" (which is really doubtful at this point, considering that's only 3 years from now [!!!]), I would be "retiring from corporate life"/working for others. I wouldn't stop doing things. I would do things that I enjoy doing that may or may not be able to support me (considering that it's nigh on impossible to make a living as a musician or artistic type) rather than doing soul-crushing mindless work for a company that could give a rat's behind about me.
