I think the whole notion of "retirement" is what is wrong now. Was a time when no-one retired. Employers adjusted job requirements to accomodate older employees if necessary (not saying that an older worker necessarily needs accomodation, mind you ). I don't agree with the notion of "work" on one hand and "non-work" on the other, with the corollary that 'work" is something you hate and only do because you have to. I work because I want to, and I'd hate to be "retired" and not have the challenge and excitemnt of doing a proper job.
