My wife is from a *huge* family. She's the oldest child of an oldest child.

So the cousins that my children play with are actually my wife's cousins. She has an aunt that is only two years older than we are, so we expect that it's still likely that she'll get more cousins to come along. It's her aunt that watches them, and they're maybe....8 years older than us. Maybe.

All of her aunts and uncles treat her like she's their little sister, and all of their kids treat her like she's their aunt.

A couple of years ago at her Grandfather's birthday party they wanted to get a picture of him with all of his grandkids. My wife went and got in the picture and was actually told by one of her family members (an in-law) "This is for the grandkids" to which she responded:

"Uh...I'm the first grandchild."

"Oh yeah, I forgot your Nancy's daughter and not her sister."
