Admittedly it doesn't work on all flavours of Windows, and the Messenger service it relies on on NT-based Windows (NT, 2K, XP) may be disabled or blocked.

On the other hand, anyone who sets up a WAP and applies little to no security due to lack of knowledge or skill will likely not have Messenger blocked or disabled.
