Well ironically it was via a friend in a weird way. My sons social worker mentioned Baptist Housing. I didn't notice them on the list BC Housing had. After I emailed them I did see them at the very bottom of a page. Then it was the Baptist Housing that told a BC Housing official who then in turn told Community Living. So yea train of people and the social worker is a friendly old dude. :) Going to kind of miss him as my sons worker as he was really nice. I'm hoping I don't get a particular worker in Maple Ridge I know because I know that woman isn't nice but I'll deal with that when I come to it. That worker in Maple Ridge does special needs daycare so may not do regular special needs social work. I also have to likely change my disability benifits office. Which hopefully I'll still get a reasonably nice worker... otherwise they may find themselves retrained ;)

But this place is a great location and even without subsidized utils. It may cost me less than where I live now or aproximately the same. I need to get a router box though for the type of internet access I want as they only give me one IP... but other than that things should be pretty darn good. They even have a food bank there that delivers once a month hampers. Which will be great and I'll sign up for. The food banks where I currently live you have to go to. There are 3 of them. They have huge lineups so you wait in the cold/rain for up to 2 hours(though as little as 45 min) and their bread is stuff thats past expiery. The foodbank where I'm going has fresh bread anyone can request from select bakerys around the city free on certain days of the month. You don't have to show them anything special they just give you free fresh bread. :)

I forgot to ask about the disposal though because I read they meter their water now and also residents are responsible for disposal. But I'm guessing as they have people taking care of the lawns and stuff they must have someone pickup garbage. Otherwise that will be weird... Imagine me on the bus with bags of trash trying to get to a disposal place. :P
