Your generation spending a couple decades boating. MY generation living off cat food because we had to pay for it. And don't be telling us we can save early because we know what's coming. Higher payroll taxes kills job creation. With what money will we save? Unfortunately my generation is outnumbered, and so our political clout is limited.

If MY generation could also look forward to a nice retirement, you could make the argument. But since Social Security was never meant to provide a couple decades of retirement, why kid ourselves? Roosevelt wasn't envisioning condos in Arizona when he enacted the plan.

Nine Lives, anyone? :P Might as well develop a taste for it now.
