but if someone has a WAP to the net, you can be pretty assured that it is broadband they are connecting through, and therefore a page now and then, or ICQ isn't even going to cause anything remotly resembling bandwidth drops, or CPU load.

Furthermore, if someone has a WAP, which they've left open due to ignorance, then the WAP is going to be there gateway and its designed to hold a lot of connections without any problems.

If they are passing through a computer gateway... well I think they'll have the knowledge to setup security.
