| I just see it differently |
by MikeCDN |
2005-01-27 10:54:36 |
As for not reading the manual, the point to that was then how did they set it up in the first place. Becuase it does require technical skill, or atleast to read the instructions, so they would have to make a concious decision to skip over security. So either there lazy or helpfull.
I just don't see it as a property issue, it's a pipe to the net, its not like i walked into there home, and plugged into there hub. It was just there. Something in the airwaves that I picked up and transmitted to. I don't abuse there WAP, so I just have trouble seeing it as a moral issue.
Different base points of view I suppose.
As I've said many times, if someone used it to get into a persons PC, or abuse there bandwidth, then I'd agree with you, however a WAP is just like another hop on the net to me... to talk to userfriendly my computer goes through 11 computers, one belongs to my work, the other belongs to you. the other 9? Well I don't know them, I have no idea who they belong to, and I don't have explicit permission from the owners, but they are open, connected to the internet system, and my computer connects to them for free. I view an open WAP in the same light, just another open part on the internet. |
