My case: I had to take out loans but my parents did give me some money for living expenses.

Friend #1:Lived at home and worked part time while going to University. Parents never charged him rent but he payed for school.

Friend #2: His parents paid full amount of schooling when he and his sister went to University. I think spending money came out of thier own pockets. Both of these people lived and worked on the family farm before they left. Their parents didn't want them to have to worry about loans when they were done school.
