..it's open and with no security whatsoever then I think it's ok to use the line. I'm not familiar with the exact hand-shaking of a wireless net, but there must be something along the lines of:

"hello"
"hello"
"can i use this network"
"sure, here's the info you need, surf away"

(but in computer language)

How could I then wrong to use it then? In a way the hand-shaking IS to ask for permission!
