granted there are some highly intelligent infantry troops, I've worked with some. Then there are those who are dumber than bricks. One I met was cross-training into my field (SATCOM, all services train(ed) at the same installation; Ft. Gordon Ga.). We had a troubleshooting problem where the amplifier was not receiving an input signal. Reason; the frequency generator that was used to feed it the signal was turned off. This guy spent 45 minutes arguing with the instructors that there was no way that could be the problem!
