It will happen and it may go unpunished but that is not because of the military but because of higher officials that need to be taken out back and have their butt whooped with a very painful object.

Those who are punished however spend a LOOONG time in prison and the Federal Prisons they are sent to are not pretty places. At all. They make San Quentin look like a day camp.

Do bad things happen in war? Yes. Do bad things happen stateside? Yes. Do bad things happen in any society? Yes. Rape is not rare in the Middle East either... however in many ways the "rapists" are celebrated. At least if people are doing their jobs under the UCMJ the Soldiers/Marines/Navy/Airmen will be punished.
