The recruiter really liked the look of the aptitude test. Me, I didn't want the extra year of enlistment for (Vietnam era) training in FORTRAN. I had white-line fever and was going to drive big rigs when I got out. It was going to be easy to hire on with tens of thousands of tractor-trailer miles. At the end of regular drivers training, the Army decides whether it needs any tractor qualified drivers. It didn't and I never drove anything larger than a ten-ton 6X6. Oh well.
