My dad spent 20 in the army as an artilleryman. I also started college on an ROTC scholarship for the Air Force, but then decided extra-curricular activities were more important and failed too many classes. I was also in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M, which is an ROTC-based organization, but does not require a student to be under contract to participate. -- Merlin
