Some religious scriptures have been proven by science. Though not all. And with science perhaps we should take a look at definitions as I just had to cover them not long ago for my own school work. You can reach conclusions based on evidence. However that doesn't discount that reasonable doubt might remain.

A brief history of scientific thought

Science and Religion in Western History

Science

Theory

Hypothesis

Philosphy

religion

belief

Somethings can't be scientifically explained 100% but they make educated guesses as to the correctness based on what evidence they have. Theories, hypothesis, etc have at times been revised over the years concering various things in existence. This applies to sciences and other matters.

Evolution of science: By the time of Aristotle the study of nature called natural philosphy sought knowledge through observation, ogic, and the proposal of models and theory. By the age of Newton natural philosphy evolved into science and then later into several diciplines of science.

Based upon that both science and religion have their basis in philosphy and belief. So they are already tied. They both try to explain things though go about it differently.
