You claim that you want to tell them the true meaning of christianity.
That's what everyone says before going into their chosen distorted rant*. Why should they expect you to be any different?

*no offence intended by implying you have things distoreded, you seem far closer to what I was taught than a lot of people. Since christianity is so splintered it's fairly say to say that for any person claiming to be christian there is another person who will claim that the first person has got it all wrong.
