You are assuming a pre-existing knowlege of cristian teachings and values. Or to be more accurate of your version of the teachings and values.

How is a non-christian supposed to know what the cristian teachings actually are when all they see are extreamists claiming to be following the teachings and then condeming half the population to hell for disagreeing with them?
