publicity stunts by dennismv2005-01-16 19:55:49
Standard way of doing such a `disappearing act' by hieraco2005-01-16 20:07:16

thanks!
This disappearance can be high tech or low tech. As in I can walk past the people and then go into an elevator, and disappear that way. I don't have to disappear while they are looking.
Any way will work, and I'm looking for a relatively simple yet productive way to vanish.

In the elevator case, people may try to follow me, so I should take precautions to make sure that they don't enter the elevator with me. I don't care if unrelated people go into the elevator, as they won't try to unmask me or find out who I am or anything. I can exit on any floor, change clothes and do whatever, and later go down to see if this caused enough disturbance in the force hehe.

Some other ways I thought about were to enter a bathroom and enter a stall, while no one sees which stull you've entered. Then change in a stall, put the costume in a bag, and leave the bathroom. Have several people with different bags leave from several other stulls. This way one will not be able to figure out who is the person who was wearing the costume. But this requires really good timing and a lot of people, so this is probably out.

Another way is to do it by myself, how I don't know. Probably it's better to have some supporting actors.

Yet another way is to enter a room, and then when someone follows me into the room, they don't find anyone in the room, or they find other unrelated people in the room (i.e. general population walking around). I don't know how to do this though. Maybe jump into a garbage bin hehe or something.
