the file is (probably) /boot/grub/menu.lst. Difference between grub and lilo is (amongst many other not-so-important-right-now things), that after you changed lilo.conf, you need to run lilo, which you don't need to with grub. -><- Cardinal Tars Tarkas, Certified Visitor of "Lilo the green sea turtle".
