Linux, Xorg & Screen Resolution by Tarinaky2005-01-16 12:14:25
Look in the conf file and find the screen by Celticess 2005-01-16 12:58:24
line with the monitor resolutions you will see a line that says "default resolution" from there make the size you want the first listed on the line of resolutions for your colourdepths. That should force it to default to the one you want. With the new xrand or something there is on the fly resizing too but I've never tried that. There is also in some versions of linux a way to do it automatically from the KDE or gnome windowmanager control pannel.
