"Windows XP RTM support on Windows Update is ending. Learn more."

That confronted me on Windows Update as I ran it on my mother's freshly installed box... and no, the MS link does NOT explain it. It seems completely unconnected. Anyone able to shed light on what the heck this means? I'm stumped...
