and it's been out for a year and a half (I sold computers with it at Gateway). The 2 major linux setups for PVR type work are Freevo and MythTV and from what I've heard, if you've got semistandard (i.e. supported by nix) hardware (especially TV tuner card) both work well and get the job done. They use a perl XML module to pull TV listings from the net and parse it for onscreen viewing. IIRC, Freakazoid is/was playing with MythTV, but I'm not sure if he got the voodoo3TV working or not.
